Dog Training Mistakes

There are a lot of different aspects to keep in mind when training a dog. People often ask me, what are the main reason’s that training your dog to be obedient fails. If we consider the actual process of training a dog we can observe a number of different reasons why people fail to succeed in training their dogs well.

The first reason why people fail to train their dog obedience is the impatience with which a dog is being treated during the training process. The dog trainer or dog owner is focused on the short term results, and they get frustrated if the dog is not showing immediately results. The process of training a dog, takes a lot of patience of the trainer. The aim is to get the dog to behave consistently, which will only be achieved if the dog is being treated patiently, and the training process is not being rushed.

The second reason why dog owners or dog trainers fail to train their dog well is the inconsistency with which the dog is being trained. The aim is to be consistent throughout the whole training process; therefore the dog will start to understand what is being expected. Keep in mind that the most import aspect of training a dog is, develop their ability to understand the cause and the effect, which makes them receive rewards. With that in mind, consistency while training your dog and how to reward the dog is essential to achieve progress.

Another reason for failure in training your dog is treating your dog as an object. You have to keep in mind that there are two participants involved in and during the dog training process. While training a dog you shouldn’t only focus on technique’s but also keep in mind that the relationship between the dog and yourself is very important. This will improve the dog training results amazingly and rapidly. This is also the reason why a dog is such a unique animal and deserves a relational treat rather then being treated and trained as an object with no emphasis on the relational side.

If you keep these aspects in mind then it will show significant improvement in the results. Your dog will be a happy dog, which is a lot more capable of obeying and behaving to the standards. Also it will make the process for the dog trainer or dog owner a lot more enjoyable and it will release the stress for the dog as well as for the trainer. Avoiding these things will show and prove to be the most efficient with the best long term results possible.
